The Peachtree Rose Club (PRC) is a beautiful and inspiring concept representing the bond, love, and support shared between sisters. In February 2023, the Former Peachtree Corners North Club (October 2019) and the former Gwinnett County Rose Club (April 2021) formed the Peachtree Rose Club. Our club promotes friendship, service, and solidarity—a bond like no other.

Our Programs are operated and made possible by member contributions, fundraising, strong partner collaborations, and relationship-building with sponsors. We also receive support within the Gwinnett County community to deliver services and fulfill the needs of critically deserving individuals with the goal of delivering transformative service and experiences.

Peachtree Rose Club Signature Project

Peachtree Period Initiative (PPI)

Period poverty is when people can't afford menstrual products due to financial constraints or stigma. This issue is compounded by a 4% sales tax on menstrual products in Georgia.

Key facts

  • One in three low-income women in Georgia misses work or school due to lack of access to period supplies.
  • Black, Latina, and Native women experience higher poverty rates than white women.
  • Menstrual products are a medical necessity but are taxed like other consumer goods.

Impact

  • Period poverty can impact a person's health and education. It can also have a negative impact on women who are already financially disadvantaged.
  • 1 in 3 low-income women report missing work, school, or similar events due to a lack of access to period supplies.

Peachtree Rose Club Work in the Community

To address period poverty, the PRC is advocating and working on:

  • Eliminating the Tax: Advocate for menstrual product tax exemptions, like those in several other states.
  • Providing Free Products: Provide free period products to those in need.
  • Workplace Policies: Work with businesses to provide free period products in bathrooms, recognizing the importance of menstrual hygiene for employee well-being and productivity.
